Watling Street Primary School

Learning Together

Welcome

Our Curriculum

 Curriculum Intent Statement

Our curriculum has been designed and planned to successfully start our children on their lifelong learning journey and promote a love of learning that will last forever. We have placed our children, their experiences and their community at the centre of our curriculum offer to ensure that their learning is both meaningful and accessible.

At Watling Street, we offer a rich and varied curriculum that is ambitious for all learners.  Throughout our curriculum, we develop the essential knowledge, skills and understanding which are the building blocks for later life. We offer opportunities to revisit new learning frequently, to ensure that our children not only know more, but remember more too.

Our curriculum encompasses the formal requirements of the National Curriculum, and also goes beyond the experiences of the classroom to ensure that our children are exposed to rich and varied enrichment and real-life opportunities.

Our aim is to enrich every child's school experience by creating an environment where they are encouraged to succeed, be the best they can be and be happy.

Our curriculum is underpinned by our six school values that are the golden thread running through everything we do

  • Aspiration
  • Community
  • Kindness
  • Learning
  • Resilience
  • Respect

We believe we are all on our learning journey together and because of this, our staff constantly reflect on the impact of our teaching and adapt it where it is needed, to ensure our children have the right learning, at the right time.
